Our Mission
The internet is full of free movie sites — but many of them are illegal, unsafe, or simply broken. Our mission is to save you the time and frustration of finding that out the hard way.
OpenCulture is a big big site! Hooray! Thousands of movies available for you to watch and take a look back at how films were made. Aside from the vast variety of films from the 1800s and early 1900s there are classic movies such as the 1931 version of Frankenstein with Boris Karloff, Movies approved by filmmakers like Quentin Tarantino, H.P. Lovecraft’s Classic Call of Cthulhu and if the movies weren't enough - They have links to documentaries,ebooks, courses and even free language lessons.

We check every link before listing it. Sites that redirect to malware, aggressive pop-ups, or adult content are excluded entirely. Your safety while browsing matters to us.

Dead links waste your time. We verify that every site on this list is actively accessible and serving content. Sites that go offline or become inaccessible are removed promptly.

Every site listed here offers free content — whether fully free with ads, free with a library card, or free with a no-cost account. We clearly label what each site requires so there are no surprises.
The Monthly Ticket Drawing
Once a month, we give away a pair of movie tickets to one lucky visitor who signs up through our drawing form. The drawing is completely free to enter — no purchase, no subscription, and no strings attached. Winners are selected at random and notified by email on the last day of each month.
